FACTS REGARDING THE REPAIR OF STAR SERVO VALVES

Industrial Servo Hydraulics, Inc. is the longest operating hydraulic repair facility in the country. Established in 1969, the original owners saw a need to service the customers in the aftermarket for servovalve repair. The manufacturers were more concerned with selling new items than supporting customers who needed service performed on there existing valves. It was a general rule that if production needed parts to get out new items, the manufacturer would use parts that were scheduled for valve repairs.

Industrial Servo Hydraulics, Inc. is under new ownership. The new owners have been with the Company for 24 to 28 years each. The top manufacturers of servovalves have trained us on the process of repairing their servovalves. The engineering background of the original owners has been passed down through the years and our close relationship with the manufacturers supports that Industrial Servo Hydraulics, Inc. still remains the most knowledgeable repair facility around. After all these years the most important rule we have learned is:

Customer Service, Honesty and Quality is more than a slogan, it is what we Do Best.

The background of our Company is why Star Hydraulics, Ltd. chose us
to represent their line of Electro Hydraulic Servovalves and why they
have confidence in our repair capabilities of their valve designs.

Dynamic and Static Tests can be provided for the Star Servovalves. This includes flow ratings, electrical characteristics, correct first stage parts such as nozzles, orifices, coils, armature feedback assemblies and other parts such as spool and sleeve assemblies. Parts used in the repair of these valves are all O.E.M. Parts.

Because of our relationship with Star we have access to all of the valve specifications. Without knowing these specifications the valve cannot be calibrated correctly such as - what the proper drive pressure should be to the first stage, the nozzles must be set to the proper pressure when removed to perform Major Motor work. This all requires special fixturing which Industrial Servo Hydraulics, Inc. has in their test laboratory.

The Star valve utilizes a Jeweled feedback ball on their Feedback Wire assembly so the valve will have a longer span of operation before a “glitch” effect occurs. This is an important feature over other like designs because it will require less maintenance which equals more profit to the user.
